I bought a 2007 Triumph Bonneville 900 brand new when they came out. The normal thing to do when a manufacture releases a new model is to wait a few years before you buy one, the idea is to let the factory work out the bugs. I've had a few problems with mine, basically a shot starter's ignition coil (which was repaired by the extended warranty-thank christ). The idea was to build my dream bike, a, what is all to commonly reffered to these days, and often incorrectly I might add, as a bobber. My first ride was on a Triumph when I was 4, and seeing how I have owned bikes from 9 other factories the Bonnie was the perfect fit; Despite what Cosmic Hog Motorcycle Leather says, but what do you expect from someone who sells after ride shoes from Harley, other than sheer wankerdom. Anywhoooo, my back is shit from too many years of hardwork, barfights, construction, dockwork, picking cotton, sailing, and herding cattle. I decided to build a swingarm "bobber." My club, the Hooligans Motorcycle Firm (Hooligans MF), was started with the notion of riding/building outlaw bikes that can be ridden anywhere, are fast, and skinney. Basically functional and cool bikes, not the shite you see on TV, not the $50K parade floats but men's bikes that are of a holy magnitude. Here are some inspirational samples of what I am speaking about, you may need a bib. Have a Black and Blue day.
The cat you see with the blue shirt and the big, ol' handsome mug is English Don and he is sitting on his scoot The Babylon Taxi. He, and in particular, that bike was the inspiration for my own build, it was featured in 1997 in Iron Horse magazine.
